Our surface disinfectant BIOPLAN 250H reduces the impact of Covid 19 on public transport

The Ministry of Transport issued the following communication: “Sanitizing products for cleaning and disinfection processes in transport are being tested, in order to continue keeping control of Covid-19 in public transport and ensure the protection of essential workers who use it every day.”

This action to reduce the impact of Coronavirus was carried out together with professionals from the ANLIS-Malbrán Institute, who validated the substance used and prepared a report on agents and strategies to reduce the impact of the virus and other harmful microorganisms in public transport vehicles. The Ministry of Health participated in the study, which included the assessment of 4 formulas. Diransa`s BIOPLAN 250H was selected as the most effective.

The disinfectant was tested on units of the Roca railway line. Personnel from Trenes Argentinos and professionals from the ANLIS-Malbrán Institute carried out the assessment. “The product proved to be effective and stay significantly longer than others on the surface,” reported a representative from the Ministry of Transport.

Disinfectant in instruments in the North and South driver’s cabins was applied using a a cloth to avoid damaging them inside. In order to analyze the disinfection process on surfaces such as seats, armrests, floors, windows and microphones, samples were taken for microbiological control.

Until now, public transport units were disinfected with sodium hypochlorite, i.e. bleach. But this new decontaminating agent has some advantages over hypochlorite: it is less aggressive, it is not irritating when used at the proper concentration and it is not corrosive, therefore it does not affect the electronics of the cabin, and does not require a degreasing wash.

The active ingredient of BIOPLAN 250H and other cleaners and disinfectants in our product portfolio is high-purity PHMG hydrochloride (Polyhexamethylene guanidine), produced in our industrial plant in Argentina. In addition to preventing the spread of the coronavirus, PHMG is also effective against other bacteria, fungi and viruses such as Escherichia coli, salmonella, hepatitis and influenza, that cause diseases and are present in public transport vehicles, public and private health centers, industries, education establishments and offices, among others.
